Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to easily lift out the brownies after baking.
For the Brownie Layer: In a large bowl, mix together melted butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla until well combined. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until just mixed. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
For the Banana Pudding Layer: In a medium bowl, whisk together the banana pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in the sliced bananas and crushed vanilla wafers.
Spread the banana pudding mixture evenly over the cooled brownies.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
Before serving, top with whipped cream, additional vanilla wafers, and sliced bananas for garnish.
Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan before cutting into squares.
